What snake red, yellow and orange in the lower body gray?
Today, we worked in the yard and killed a snake I was in a lot of old wood in a field flooded in the country. The snake was dark gray on top, but disappeared into the background a bright red to bright orange and bright yellow. May have had small black spots on the bottom, with color, I do not remember with certainty. We have no idea this type of snake it is. Anyone know? Is it toxic?
gray to black ring on top, yellow / orange / red uterus, small red, yellow or orange around the neck is a grass snake, probably not more than 20 inches (and that is big enough) These snakes are completely harmless unless the larvae ants, termites, millipedes, worms, etc. Please buy a field guide for native snakes instead of killing things just because you know nothing about them. Ignorance is not good for anyone.
