What is a good crash cymbal to keep time on?

What i mean is, ye you have your hi-hat and your ride cymbal. But i am having a really hard time figuring out what kind of cymbal i should use to keep time on. As of right now, i have an 18" zildjian a custom rezo, and i like it because it has a heavy sound and cuts through, but i think there are better options. Should i head in the direction of a crash ride?..or a fast crash?..or just trial and error with cymbals? No clue

Heavier and larger crashes are louder with a lot of sustain and actually more like hybrids between rides and crash cymbals, that are also called crash rides. We suggest you should probably try a crash ride.
