Tuners Machine Head
Would it work to fit Gibson tuning machine heads onto a Fender guitar's headstock?
I know Gibson doesn't sell their tuners as a 6 in-line set but what if you bought two sets of Gibson tuners and worked with that? How would that work?
(I probably won't try this anytime soon but I think it'd be a cool thing to experiment with)
If you were to take Explorer tuners or something like it (six in-line tuners), then it's possible that the tuners might fit, but i greatly doubt that they are the same size. If they don't fit perfectly, than you shouldn't use them. Like the other answer said, if you want to change your tuners, you should but some new ones. To know that they fit, you would need to measure the diameter of the hole for your tuners. Also, pretty much all Gibsons use Grover tuners now, while Fender still makes their own. If you have a Strat, I reccomend getting some locking tuners, as they will hold their tune for a long time. The best brand for these is Sperzel, which would be common online. If you don't want to spend that much but still have high quality, try these:
